Technician

JOB PURPOSE
Drive hands-on site installation and technical execution support for assigned Solar PV, EV charging, BESS / EMS or related project works, ensuring safe, timely and quality workmanship in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, site SOPs and Project Engineer / site PIC directions.

The role supports smooth project delivery by maintaining installation readiness, disciplined material and tool usage, site documentation, defect rectification support, safe-work behaviour and timely escalation of site constraints, quality issues or safety concerns.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
a) Drive assigned site installation works for Solar PV, EV charging, BESS / EMS or other project works in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, site SOPs and Project Engineer / site PIC directions.
b) Prepare site work areas, tools, materials, PPE, access arrangements and housekeeping requirements to support safe and efficient site mobilisation and installation readiness.
c) Execute mounting, equipment placement, cable routing support, conduit / trunking support, panel handling, labelling, mechanical fixing, minor rectification and other technical installation tasks within approved competency limits.
d) Complete assigned installation tasks within agreed timeline and workmanship requirements, and check own work before submission to reduce rework, defects and punch-list items.
e) Use materials, tools, equipment and consumables responsibly to minimise wastage, misuse, damage, shortages and avoidable project cost impact.
f) Support site progress reporting by maintaining site photos, completion checklists, work status updates, material usage records, defect status and other assigned site documentation.
g) Coordinate actively with Project Engineers, Wiremen, Design team, Quality / HSE / Compliance personnel, contractors, suppliers and customers’ site representatives to resolve site access, material, drawing, workmanship or execution issues.
h) Identify and escalate site constraints, unsafe conditions, material shortages, drawing conflicts, quality concerns, repeated defects or matters requiring engineering / management review.
i) Support testing, commissioning, handover, as-built documentation, defect rectification, service cases, O&M or after-sales work where assigned, without performing regulated electrical work outside authorised competency.
j) Comply with PPE discipline, toolbox briefings, JSA / risk assessments, working-at-height controls, site safety rules, housekeeping requirements and applicable SOPs at all times.
k) Support closure of quality / HSE findings raised by Quality, HSE & Compliance, Project Engineer, Manager, customer representative or other authorised reviewer where assigned.
l) Strengthen technical capability through practical learning, safety training, multi-skill exposure, teamwork and disciplined application of lessons learned to improve site execution.

KEY REQUIREMENTS
a) Certificate, Diploma, SKM or equivalent qualification in electrical, mechanical, renewable energy, construction, M&E works or a related technical discipline.
b) Preferably 1–3 years of relevant experience in solar PV, EV charging, construction, M&E works, installation, maintenance or renewable energy project execution.
c) Practical understanding of site installation, mounting works, equipment handling, cable routing support, basic tools, materials, housekeeping and site documentation.
d) Able to read and follow approved drawings, method statements, work instructions, site requirements and Project Engineer / site PIC directions.
e) Good understanding of site safety, PPE requirements, toolbox / JSA participation, working-at-height controls and safe-work practices.
f) Able to support installation, rectification, punch-list closure, testing / commissioning support, site documentation and handover readiness.
g) Disciplined in material usage, tool care, housekeeping, records, follow-through and escalation of site, quality or safety issues.
