Project Engineer

JOB PURPOSE
Support the Operation & Project Delivery function by coordinating assigned project execution from execution readiness through site mobilisation, installation, testing, commissioning, handover and post-installation support.

The role is responsible for ensuring assigned projects are delivered safely, on time, within approved budget and to approved specifications, with proper coordination across Design, Procurement, site teams, contractors, Quality / HSE / Compliance, Customer Service and other relevant stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
a) Review approved project scope, design drawings, BOQ, proposal assumptions, site assessment findings and customer requirements to translate awarded jobs into clear execution plans.
b) Coordinate site mobilisation, work sequencing, installation activities, testing, commissioning and handover for assigned projects.
c) Plan and monitor site manpower, materials, tools, subcontractor support and project resources to support timely and cost-effective execution.
d) Monitor project progress, budget utilisation, material usage, rework risk and site constraints, and highlight issues that may affect cost, timeline, quality or customer commitments.
e) Coordinate closely with Design, Procurement, Technicians, Wiremen, contractors and other internal stakeholders to resolve technical, material, site or execution issues.
f) Support proposal-to-execution alignment by identifying scope gaps, design / BOQ mismatches, site constraints, variation requirements and execution risks before or during project implementation.
g) Maintain project documentation including site records, progress updates, photographs, inspection records, testing and commissioning records, punch list items and handover documents.
h) Ensure assigned projects meet approved specifications, quality expectations, system performance requirements and handover readiness standards.
i) Coordinate defect rectification, punch list closure, customer handover, as-built information and post-installation support matters where required.
j) Support Customer Service and O&M coordination by providing technical/site input for service cases, defect verification, warranty support and O&M / insurance handover where applicable.
k) Implement approved site SOPs, toolbox briefing, job safety analysis / risk assessment, PPE discipline, contractor coordination and safe-work practices for assigned site activities.
l) Close or support closure of quality / HSE findings raised by Quality, HSE & Compliance, and escalate recurring, material or high-risk issues to the Manager, Operation & Project Delivery.
m) Coordinate with customers, building management, consultants, contractors, suppliers and authorities where required for smooth site access, execution, commissioning and handover.
n) Support continuous improvement by sharing lessons learned, practical execution issues, value optimisation ideas and best practices to strengthen future project delivery capability.

KEY REQUIREMENTS
a) Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Construction Management or a related technical discipline.
b) Preferably 2–4 years of relevant experience in solar PV, electrical works, project execution, site coordination, construction, M&E works or renewable energy projects.
c) Basic understanding of solar PV systems, electrical installation, site assessment, project drawings, BOQ, testing, commissioning and handover requirements.
d) Able to read and interpret technical drawings, project documents, site information and material / BOQ requirements.
e) Good project coordination, site supervision, documentation, problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills.
f) Good understanding of site safety, toolbox briefing, JSA / risk assessment, PPE discipline and contractor coordination requirements.
g) Able to coordinate effectively with Design, Procurement, Technicians, Wiremen, contractors, Customer Service, Quality / HSE / Compliance and customers.
h) Detail-oriented, proactive, disciplined in follow-up and able to manage multiple project activities within required timelines.
i) Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace and basic project / site reporting tools.
j) Willing to travel to project sites, attend site meetings and support testing, commissioning, handover or service matters where required.
k) Travel to project sites, rooftops, customer premises or service locations where required.
